USB Cable (Recommended for Many Photos)

Install Tools: Open Terminal on Ubuntu and run: sudo apt update && sudo apt install ifuse libimobiledevice-utils gvfs-backends gvfs-fuse.
Connect & Trust: Plug in your iPhone, unlock it, and tap "Trust" on the prompt.
Import: Ubuntu's Photos app (Shotwell/gThumb) should auto-launch; select your device and import. If not, launch it manually and select "Import from Removable Device".
Manual Mount (Advanced): Use idevicepair pair, then mkdir ~/iphone, then fuse-ifuse ~/iphone, and copy files from ~/iphone.
